Ta da! Introducting...Tegu!

Tegu Rainbow Magnetic Blocks

Rachel Clore of aMuse Toys  Tegu Logo We had finally arrived. This was my first visit to NYC to attend the annual International Gift Fair, and I was up for the challenge. (Well, if you can call playing cool games and scouting new toys a challenge - or even work for that matter...) I didn’t know what to expect. We grabbed our badges and stepped into the bustling showroom. We weren’t but a few feet in from the entrance when I was immediately struck by an eye-catching display of Tegu. Tegu Magnetic Wooden Blocks

Tegu is a brand new company that manufactures magnetic wooden blocks - think Magformers meet Haba. Serious play with a classic, yet sleek design. Everything about them screamed aMuse.

I knew Tegu was my favorite booth at the fair when I saw their rainbow blocks; they have amazing colors! What I appreciate most about Tegu, however, are their company ethics. I was thrilled to learn that all of Tegu’s products are responsibly manufactured in Honduras.

Their factory workers are paid fair wages and treated well, and the trees used to create the blocks are harvested responsibly. Even a portion of the proceeds goes back to planting more trees in Honduras. They’ve also created a program where you can donate money to further education for the children in Tegucigalpa.

Tegucigalpa is Honduras' capital city; it is also Tegu’s namesake. (You figured that out already, though, because you’ve been playing with your GeoToys!) Anyway, I thought the company and its product were absolutely inspiring:  Create beautiful toys with a mission to make the world a better place! What a brilliant concept.

Get excited, Tegu is coming to aMuse soon!

You are so right! While HABA was of course the first place we stopped by its funny how all our eyes were totally on tegu as we walked in.

These are the kind of finds that make the trip a success!

Tom and I are so glad you got to experience the show. There are many more on the horizon!
